The Likely Lads was a black and white British sitcom created and written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, and produced by Dick Clement. Twenty-one episodes were broadcast by the BBC, in three series, between 16 December 1964 and 23 July 1966. However, only eight of these shows have survived.

The Likely Lads (TV Series 1964–1966)With James Bolam, Rodney Bewes, Don McKillop, Bartlett Mullins. The adventures of two "likely lads" ostensibly set in the North East of England (but filmed in Willesden Junction, London). Terry and Bob have been friends since childhood. Bob is the sensible one trying hard to get on with his job and with life. Terry is the wild one, always ready to lead Bob astray.
Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? (TV Series 1973–1974 ..."Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads" is a continuation of the lives and friendship between Northern lads Terry and Bob. Like the best of British sitcoms, the humour is derived from character and from situations. The scripts are excellent on the whole and James Bolam and Rodney Bewes vividly brought their respective characters to life.
